Week 2 Foundation trial - Estée Lauder

This weeks foundation trial was with Estée Lauder. I trialled 4 of their foundations and found that they would suit most people.

Results

Double wear light -
Double wear light is a spin off from the original Double wear but with a lighter coverage. When I tried this foundation I found the coverage was medium, but buildable with a long lasting matte finish. You need to work fairly quickly with this foundation so that you can get a nice even coverage. The colour range is quite large and lots to choose from but you really have to try it on the skin as when you look at it from the bottle, the colours can be a little deceiving as they look a lot darker. I didn't have any trouble matching a colour in this range. The good thing about this foundation is its light reflective unlike the original double wear. The foundation stays put and is non transferable. When I used this foundation I had to really hydrate my skin as it can be a little drying. All in all it's a nice foundation and one that I would wear again on an evening out or when I need a flawless, stay put foundation.

Double Wear -
This foundation has been around for years !! This foundation does not move ! The coverage is full with a matte finish and non transferable. I found it a little harder to colour match with this foundation, with it being a little too light, too dark or too pink based. If you have a dry or mature skin you may not find this to be a foundation for you. When I tried this foundation, like the DWL I had to make sure my skin was well moisturised and I had to work quick to get an even coverage plus I didn't need to powder. Unlike the DWL this foundation is not light reflective and may give you a pale face in photos. For me I found the coverage a little too heavy and drying for everyday wear. A good foundation for a combination, oily or young skin.

Futurist Foundation -
I found this foundation quite moisturising and left the skin looking dewy. It would be a good everyday foundation as it has a medium coverage. Good for a mature or dry/dehydrated skin. The colour selection is a little limited with not a lot of shades to choose from. Again I found it a little harder to colour match with this foundation. This is a good foundation if you are looking for a dewy complexion.

Re-Nutriv -
This lifting and firming foundation is a great alternative to double wear for the ladies who need coverage in their foundation but also need moisture. A cream foundation with a full coverage and a dewy finish. The colour range is a little small but I did find a colour to match. The price of this foundation is a bit high compared to the rest of the Lauder Foundations, but well worth it.

The results of these foundations are based on my skin and the requirements I like in a foundation. This is my opinion alone ❤️BB
